What you can visit in UMBRIA

CASCATE DELLE MARMORE

The Cascata della Marmore (Marmore Falls), whose beauty has been extolled throughout the centuries, appears as a roaring column of water divided into three sections. Enshrouding the flora in a cloud of white foam, it covers a vertical drop of 165 meters. The visitor is regaled with a scenario that is the result of over two thousand years of work by man who has, since Roman times, attempted to channel the waters of the river Velino to make them fall into the Nera river below.

MONTE SUBASIO

Located at an altitude of 1290 meters above sea level, the Monte Subasio is located in the Province of Perugia and on its slopes we find Assisi and Spello to the west, Nocera Umbra and Valtopina to the east, the territory of Gualdo Tadino to the north and that of Foligno to the south . The Monte Subasio Regional Park, a protected area since 1995, is one of the main places for those who love to venture out on excursions. Here you will have the opportunity to follow paths on foot, by bike or even by paragliding, climbing to the top of the mountain where you will find the first take-off at 1110 meters above sea level. Camping Trasimeno is about 1 hour from Mount Subasio.

MONTE CUCCO

The Monte Cucco Regional Park is an area established in 1995 and is located on the north-eastern border of Umbria. With an area of 105 square kilometers it offers spectacular landscapes ideal for lovers of hiking and trekking. Here you can decide which, among the 4 proposed itineraries, is the most suitable based on your abilities: 3 are dedicated to expert hikers, “The valley of the prisons, The Spaccatura delle Lecce, from the Hermitage of Monte Cucco to Pian delle Macinare” and 1 “The Beech Forests and the Karst Plains of the Upper Rio Freddo Valley”, designed for the less experienced. This park is also ideal for cycling, canyoning, paragliding, hang-gliding and even if you are a mountain bike lover. Camping Trasimeno is about 1 hour’s drive from Monte Cucco.

OASI LA VALLE

The Valle Naturalistic Oasis, with a surface area of approximately 1,000 hectares, is a wetland of great ornithological interest, with shallow waters and extensive reed beds, an important resting and nesting stop along the migratory routes from northern Europe to sub-Africa Saharan. The Oasis has a visitor center equipped with a classroom, a scientific-educational laboratory and a station for the scientific ringing of birds. It is possible to follow a nature trail with 4 observers. Camping Trasimeno is about 15 minutes away by car.
